Commitment to colour

Hello Style Biscuits!

Well, I couldn't believe my luck in finding someone nailing monochromatic styling today. What a coincidence - I am currently drafting a piece on monochromatic dressing for later this week and looky, looky, looky at this wonderful creature Chantelle...

I stumbled upon her in Bourke Street Mall. How could I not right? Such a bold, beautiful and confident style biscuit she is - what a stand out.

I tend to favour neutrals when I dress monochrome, but wow, doesn't this look incredible? She's like a sweet fizzy drink on a hot summer's day. Oh, and please note her fabulous nail art.

I was quite fortunate to catch the beautiful Chantelle this afternoon as she is a resident Kiwi and will be flying out of Oz tonight. AND she was celebrating her birthday today... so HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVELY CHANTELLE! Thanks for sharing your style with Jender Biscuit.

S'all for now. Check in over the weekend for my post on monochromatic styling.

Stand-out stylin' in South Melbourne

Hello Biscuits

On this gorgeous Australia Day, Rob and I treated ourselves to a long slow breakfast at one of our favourite cafes in South Melbourne, Dead Man Espresso. To my utter delight, a visual style biscuit in the form of Miss Ledeta W was working this day, and oh, what a sight for style hungry eyes.

You know my dear biscuits, that I am one serious lover of androgyny and brave fashion and style choice, and Miss Ledeta's hair and tattoos satisfied my hunger immediately. Here for your viewing pleasure are a couple of quick snaps of the beautiful Ledeta...

Agreed? Fabulousness? Yes, I am so thankful to exciting, creative souls who wear their individuality so confidently. I am so inspired by these displays.

Thank you Ledeta for allowing me to take a couple of snaps of you. I truly adore your urban tribal expressions!

Frustrated Stylist Excursion No. 1 - Forever New

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm starting off my 2014 by sharing with you a fun little styling adventure I had with two very brave friends. The challenge was for me to find suitable outfits for them from a store that we wouldn't necessarily shop in... Forever New. (Absolutely no criticism here regarding the store, it does what it does very well. It was more a matter of us assuming that it wouldn't necessarily contain any pieces that we would particularly want to wear or would suit us. I'm happy to say we were proved wrong.)

So here we go... we started with Naomi.

Naomi, who usually frequents op-shops and favours bohemian style outfits was pretty chuffed with the classic black and white ensembles I styled for her.

Naomi is certainly not a bling kinda girl, but she loved this little body suit paired with comfy black pants.

This 70s inspired jumpy was divine on Miss N.

Belinda the yogi asked me to find her some formal dresses. The results were surprising.
This gorgeous maxi-dress really showed off her beautiful tiny waist, flat stomach and feminine shoulders.

And again, stunning with a black maxi.

This cute little weekend party frock was fun and flattering.

And of course I got in on some of the action... but should I share the photos???

Super fun styling sesh with two gorgeous ladies.

Thnks for the play time girlies.

Hello Stylesters!

Welcome, welcome, welcome to Jender Biscuit!

I am very excited to be launching my vlog/blog, YouTube channel and Facebook page this week, the very last week of 2013 (that must mean I made my New Year's Resolution afterall).

If you have already watched my Welcome Video (http://youtu.be/jpY8eLUp1X4you'll know that this is my first experience with vlogging/blogging. I'm really looking forward to watching this project develop, sharing my style tid-bits and preferences and hopefully reaching, inspiring and meeting wonderful likeminded souls.

This week has already provided me with a styling adventure which I'll be sharing with you tomorrow. It includes 1 x glitzy/blingy retail chain, 2 x willing guinea pigs and 1 x frustrated stylist. We had a ball (I think!).

Thanks for clicking in... see you soon
